HISTORY

One of the most successful Orange County pottery designers was Kay Finch of Corona del Mar.

Kay Finch started her ceramics business as a hobby, but as the demand for her pieces grew, she and her husband Branden moved to Corona del Mar and built a studio and retail showroom at 3901 E. Pacific Coast Highway in 1941.

Kay Finch was the artist and her husband was the businessman, and together they created a successful company that had more than 65 employees. The manufacturing was done by others - all by hand - but each ceramic piece was designed by Finch.

Kay Finch figurines (which included both animals and people) are known for their color and whimsical design.

Finch died June 21, 1993, at age 89.
