Robert Simmons

history

Robert Simmons Ceramics were manufactured from the 1940’s to the early 1960’s and most of them are actually copies of other company's figurines! Beswick & Royal Doulton were the two most copied companies but there were others.

The sets/pairs of animal figurines usually shared a single item number and the figurines were often marked with a Robert Simmons sticker & a small silver rectangular sticker with the animal’s name and item number. Many of the animal figurines also have a spot of paint on the bottom of a foot. Figurines were also occasionally marked with the item number on the bottom, carved or ink stamped. Simmons was partnered with Burke (from Burke-Winton) under the name Burke-Simmons.
