I have many beloved pieces that are unmarked but I believe were made by US based companies due to their (1) heavier weight and use of higher quality pottery ceramic, (2) even finishes, (3) high quality paint jobs, and (4) even crazing on gloss finished pieces. I have also found that US pottery company pieces have a great deal of character when compared to the Japanese pieces as often the artist added accent marks to the face and body.
